The Toronto Fringe runs July 4-15, 2012. It is Toronto’s largest theatre festival, featuring 150+ artistic creations that welcome 90,000+ patrons every year. Some highlights:

• 12 days of fun, with a Fringe Club at Honest Ed’s – Toronto’s hottest pop-up patio, where you can enjoy a cold drink at our licensed bar and out the artist alley.
• For everyone, with shows in every genre from toe-tapping musicals to gut busting sketch comedy.
• Where you catch the next big thing, like notable past Fringe shows The Drowsy Chaperone, Kim’s Convenience and ‘da Kink in My Hair.
• For the adventurous, with 14 plays in unexpected locations like parking lots, school buses and a bra shop.
• A welcoming community event – all art at the festival is chosen at random, our tickets are a maximum of $11, and we never censor anything.
• For kids and families, with FringeKids! plays at the Palmerston library and kids’ tickets for only $6.

The St-Ambroise Montreal FRINGE Festival (June 4-24, 2012) is the ultimate Summer happening to hit up for that unbeatable neighborhood feel! Block party and performing arts collide every June in the Plateau Mile-End for this celebration of creativity without limits that includes music, comedy, dance and theatre from over 500 performers. The St-Ambroise Montreal FRINGE Festival is bilingual, and includes local, national and international artists from Montreal to Greece to Japan!

The Ottawa Fringe runs June 14-24, 2012; it is Ottawa’s largest theatre festival!  Founded in 1997, the Ottawa Fringe Festival has enjoyed consistent growth over its 16 years and now includes 15 venues in the heart of the National Capital. Our licensed outdoor venue, The Courtyard, on the corner of Daly and Waller – serves as the heart of the Fringe and features nightly entertainment. It’s the best place to meet performers, catch the buzz on hot Fringe shows and see previews for other performances.

The Orlando International Fringe Theatre Festival was created in 1992 by Terry Olson (now Director of the Orange County Division of Arts and Cultural Affairs, Andy Anthony and Rick Kunst).   At first, the festival was held in downtown Orlando, with most venues being created in empty storefronts specifically for the festival. This continued until 2004, when the festival was split between downtown Orlando and Loch Haven Park.  The move to Loch Haven proved a success and so, from 2005 on, the festival has been entirely in Loch Haven Park, utilizing The Lowndes Shakespeare Center and Orlando REP as venues.  In 2012, Mennelo Museum joined Orlando Fringe as the venue for Kids Fringe.

About The Island Fringe Festival:

“The Island FRINGE is a site-specific Festival. We understand that not all theatre is meant for a… well… theatre. This is an opportunity to bring your show into an original site. If your play takes place in a classroom, why not have the audience actually in one, sitting at desks? Maybe you’ve always dreamed of staging a show in a park or by the sea or in a diner, complete with milkshakes. Our goal is to shake up theatre while keeping it affordable for both artists and audience. Because the performance spaces are alternative sites, not all have the capabilities for traditional tech (lighting grid, etc.) We’re all for alternative tech, however. If tech is an integral part of your show, let us know, so that we know where to put you. But please keep in mind that any tech will be non-traditional.”
